Dr Shagufta Perveen is a Pakistani woman awarded with many awards and degrees for her education. She is a Natural Product Chemist/Scientist by profession. She has been working as Lecturer Chemistry at Tariq Bin Ziad College, Karachi, Pakistan. Then, she joined Synthetic Chemistry, University of Southampton, England, the United Kingdom as a Researcher. After that, the researcher position by Shagufta HEJ (Research Institute of Chemistry (International Centre for Chemical and Biological Sciences) Karachi, Pakistan). She also worked as Assistant Professor at the Department of Pharmacognosy, College of Pharmacy, King Saud University, Riyadh, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia from September 2009 to November 2014. While she was working in the same position, she got an offer from the Department of Pharmacognosy, College of Pharmacy, King Saud University, Riyadh, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia for the position of Associate Professor.



She joined immediately and has been working since November 2014. Then, she joined the Institute of Molecular Plant Sciences, School of Biological Sciences, The University of Edinburgh, where she has worked as Academic Visiting Staff from June to September 2017. After that, a turning point came in her life when she got an offer from the College of Natural Science, Molecular Plant Science Building, Michigan State University Shagufta MSU. She worked there from June to August 2018 as a Short Term Scholar/Professor. She also did a PhD in Natural Product Chemistry / Organic Chemistry / Synthetic Chemistry.
